All the Boys Love Mandy Lane (2006)
Director: Jonathan Levine
Main Stars: Amber Heard, Anson Mount, Whitney Able, Michael Welch, Luke Grimes, Melissa Price, Edwin Hodge, Aaron Himelstein
Storyline: A group of high school students invite good girl Mandy Lane to a summer party what they find out they are not the only ones that love her.
Review (Spoils): Mandy Lane (Amber Heard) is young, beautiful and every guy wants her and every girl wants to be her. So much that she is rather annoyed and just wants to be left alone. Even her best friend Emmet (Michael Welch) annoys her about it. After many bets and talks of boys trying to score it with Mandy the in crowd invite to a vacant ranch for a weekend during the summer to drink beer, smoke dope, drop pills and fool around. Sounds like fun right? Well everyone wants a piece of Mandy and this leads to someone killing each on off one at a time. Outside of the typical and boring teen atmosphere of this film we have teen horniness, drugs, booze, lots of gun shots, slash across the eyes and a classic rifle down the throat. All in all after the first hour of party which drags on way to long for the film the action finally kicks into high gear and the ending have some surprises.
Amber Heard did a great job acting as the innocent more mature Mandy Lane that everyone loves but I feel Whitney Able took the show over as her character Chloe was interesting and she played it out very well. Both are great actresses and easy on the eyes and cannot wait to see them in more horror films.
The real downfall of the film is the realism of how people are attracted to Mandy Lane. Yes she is a pretty girl but every gut to think they can score that is not reality. Come on… think of when you were young there is such as thing “out of my league why try”. Really are all the guys in this school that dumb that they would rather have their egos crushed than deal with the hard reality of it all?
Rating: The movie was boring at first as there is so much teenager high school crap you can see on film at one time. Plus the googly crush eye for Mandy Lane was a bit much…hell Chloe is cuter to be honest. But overall the film was not bad and it did try to be a bit different and hey at least it is not another redneck in the woods movie. Grab your beer bong and drink to Mandy Lane.
