Let Sleeping Corpses Lie (1974)
Director: Jorge Grau
Stars: Cristina Galbo, Ray Lovelock, Arthur Kennedy
Storyline: The dead rises after farmers use pesticides on farm fields.
Review: A young couple (Cristina Galbo, Ray Lovelock) travel along the country side and comes across strange finds the land becomes infected and the dead rise, babies act homicidal and wild life has gone nuts. This becomes the couple up against the cops as they think they are nuts and the true murders of the people are gang of Manson like hippies. This leads to the couple battle and running away from undead , some a newly undead and some are downright rotten.
The film builds on atmosphere so it can be a slow start before the zombie fun but when the gore hits it shows well. Prime example of this is hospital scene; classic spot of the film and scream Lucio. But overall we have burning zombies and the undead love to straggle and choke people instead of eating in most cases.
Rating: Yes another Italian zombie film but this is a milestone and often overlooked in horror. I would like to thank Jorge Grau for this film even though it does lack a little in the slowness.
