Director: Stan Winston
Stars: Lance Henriksen, Jeff East, John D’Aquino, Kimberly Ross, Cynthia Bain
Storyline: A man loses his son and conjures up a vengeful demon called Pumpkinhead to kill the people responsible.
Review: A group of teenagers with their dirt bikes roam around a small store located in the middle of nowhere. They accidently hit a young boy and kill him and flee the scene leaving the father (Lance Henriksen) to find the body. This leads to him seeking revenge and heading to visit an old hag who conjures up an evil monster called Pumpkinhead. What the father did not know is the beast is tied to his soul.
We have a great haunting tale of Pumpkinhead and his crafty demons ways of killing and the hunting the teenagers down one by one. We have lots of long fingers and nasty talons killing and scraping up the kids. We have a huge beast that is very well done hunting them all down until the father realise what he has done and try to save the remaining teenagers.
Rating: Get past the terrible name and you have a great Halloween movie. The storyline is pretty decent and the monster itself is a classic. This is a great tale of a father who trades in his soul for revenge. Some minor gore but overall the movie is good. It’s too bad the series that attaches itself to this is painful. Cheers to the great nasty beast known as Pumpkinhead!
I love this little film.
