They dump the body into the water and pretend nothing has happened. One year later they start to get notes and messages that someone “knows what they did last summer”. This leads the teens into a panic and one by one they start to get murdered by a stranger in a fisherman’s slicker and his great ice hook.

To me this is the beginning of the death of horror films of this era. We have teenie boppers that are nice on the eyes but stupid and brainless in character. Sure it would cool if Jason came by and slashed them all too bits but he doesn’t. The film is ok as the story does have a reason behind it but there are over done kills and no memories really for this film except maybe Jennifer Love Hewitt and Sarah Michelle Gellar. I personally find it hard to take a horror film serious when it filled with Hollywood stars and that’s what happened here. Horror films are to raw and scary, not red carpet.

It’s too bad as the slasher character idea was neat but the there is nothing really that stands out for the film. Scream dragged this film into the ground for me as it has been done and here we go with the horror fetish of Hollywood.  We have car accidents, car running over people, disappearing bodies and lots of he is here and now he isn’t.

Rating:  Typical teen horror film with no real scares or memories. Just a bunch of beautiful people running around, being chased and worried about a man in a fisherman’s slicker. This is what the film is.

5/10 Beers!
