Director: Dario Argento
Main Stars: Leigh McCloskey, Irene Miracle, Eleonora Giorgi, Ania Pieroni,
Storyline: An American college student in Rome and her sister in New York are investigating a series of murders from both locations that might be tied to a coven of witches.
Review (Spoils): Rose is a poet from New York who comes across a book called the The Three Mothers. She learns that there is a coven of witches held by three sisters, one for sorrow, tears and darkness. These witches are spread out through Rome, Freiburg and New York. She contacts her brother Mark who is studying in Rome to look into this as she suspects her building is home to the witch of New York. This leads to the coven interfering with their finds and the killing begins.
This film gives us some scares and some blood. We have stabbings, cat attacks, rat attacks, massive fire and good old coven stalking. The movie is beautiful to watch as the scenes are set just right which Dario is great for. Sure the plot has some holes and bounces a bit but it gets the story across of The Three Mothers which followed after the great Suspiria.
Rating: Looking for a complex film skip this one. If you’re looking for a Dario Argento film that you have not seen before check this out. Does not start with this film start with Suspiria and work your way to this it will make more sense. Great stuff and Dario Argento will always be seen as a legend of horror.
