Storyline: A wicked childhood has leaded a man into killing women and taking their scalps as trophies.
Review (Spoils): Frank Zito (Joe Spinell) is one messed up man. His abusive mother worked the streets but he still kept a close connection to her. After she was killed in a car accident that leads to his mind snap. He keeps hearing his mother and does not want to leave that behind so he starts to walk the streets of New York and murdering women in graphic ways. He scalps them and places them on mannequins in his apartment. Through all this he meets a young photographer named Anna (Caroline Munro) who befriends him and tries to build a relationship. This draws the line in his mind of his mother and he totally breaks down and loses his mind.
This is one of the most graphic, bloody and gory film for slashers for its time. Frank is one messed up man they build the character greatly and it keeps you interested. The film has some nasty scalping, barb wire throat slits, strangulation, shotgun shots, stabbings and a nasty ending with the mannequins. Bring on the gore and bring on the nasty for this one.
Rating: This film is momma’s boy gone wrong. This film is not for the weak and it is pretty graphic. The storyline and character is build is awesome and the film to me is a classic of the 80’s horror. Frank Zinto is one messed up man and for that we thank William Lustig.
