Deranged: Confessions of a Necrophile (1974)
Director: Jeff Gillen, Alan Ormsby
Main Stars: Robert Blossom, Cosette Lee, Leslie Carlson, Micki Moore, Pat Orr
Storyline: Based on Ed Gein a rural farmer misses his mother and tried to bring her back with body parts of others.
Review (Spoils): Ezra Cobb (Robert Blossom) loves his mother very very much. She passes away in a bloody mess in her bed and Ezra decides because he misses her he will dig her up. She leaves her corpse in her bed and gets the idea of removing skin of others to bring her back to her beauty. He is constantly haunted with her presence and starts to kill young ladies to help bring back his mother.
We have blood, gun shots, dead bodies, a nasty body being hung like a pig and some skinning. This movie does hold off on the gore but it does like the bright red blood. The narrative in the film can be annoying but overall this film is pretty decent for a B film.
Rating: Robert Blossom did a great job playing the odd ball farmer Ezra and portraying the Ed character. Sure the movie is a low budget but I was very surprised on how the movie dragged me in. This was a surprise film for me.
