Amityville Horror 4 (1989)
Director: Sandor Stern
Main Stars: Patty Duke, Jane Wyatt, Fredic Lehne
Storyline: A lamp from the haunted house of Long Island finds its way to California.
Review (Spoils): Yes you read the storyline right, you just can’t make this shit up. A lamp is holding the spirit of the demon from the old Amityville House. The lamp ends up at a yard sale where a young woman named Helen cuts herself on it. The animals fear the lamp and Helen becomes obsessed with the strange item. The haunting then begin as people see ghosts in the mirrors and then a young girl named Jessica talking to her dead father in the lamp.
We have fingers cuts, some blood, a terrifying lamp that turns itself on and off (even when unplugged….ohhh the horror!), flies, bleeding walls, stabbings, axe swinging and some nice exploding lamp. A lot of lamp and just silliness for this made for TV film.
Rating: Not sure why the writer thought this was great idea. To me this is just cash in on the series name and hell what’s cheaper than a lamp for special effects? The series does not get any better after this one either.
