Jeepers Creepers 2 (2003)
Director: Victor Salva
Main Stars: Jonathan Breck, Ray Wise, Nicki Aycox, Marieh Delfino, Diane Delano, Garilkayi Mutambirwa, Eric Nenninger
Storyline: The Creeper is back but this time he lusts for a group of basketball players.
Review (Spoils): On the last day of the Creepers (Jonathan Breck ) feeding cycle a group of boys from a basketball team bus breaks down in the middle of nowhere. Well the bus didn’t really break down the Creeper shot some funky ninja stars into the tires and made the bus stop. The creeper attacks the group by killing and dragging the boys off one by one and leaving the cheerleaders behind (we learn that he has a fetish for young boys).
The movie does not have the creepiness of the first film at all …to be honest this film is more like a sci-fi film than a horror film but the many scenes of the Creeper regenerating is pretty cool. We have a lot of swooping and snatching and devouring. He have a lot of homosexuality in your window in this film, hot young men being shirtless, the Creeper licking the school bus windows and making horny longing eyes to the young masculine flesh.
The down fall of the film is it did lose its creepiness and the mystery of the Creeper itself. It is all pretty much laid out on the table and nothing to suggestion. The film lost its 70s feels of the dark era of horror and kind of went to a new generation of horror feel.
Rating: There is nothing wrong with what Victor Salva created here but I just wish they would have stuck with the darkness of the first film. The film was too fleshed out for me and left nothing for me to really think about. Now the Creeper does now have a new twisted with his taste in young men that to me is unique and should be interesting if they ever decide the venture into this series again for another film.
