The Tingler (1959)
Director: Robb White
Main Stars: Vincent Price, Judith Evelyn, Darryl Hickman
Storyline: Dr. Warren Chapin learns that fear is a creature itself that lives in all people. This creature lives in our vertebrate is called the Tingler!
Review (Spoils): Dr. Warren Chapin (Vincent Price) is nuts as he conducts autopsies on executed prisoners in the local State Prison. He has a theory that a creature lives in our backbone that causes fear and manages fear. When he comes across a young patient that is deaf and mute he starts his madness to prove a point. He starts to use LSD to provoke nightmares on his clients.
This is one of the more popular films and roles of the late Vincent Price and once you see this film you can see why. We have lots of screaming, the over acting of Judith Evelyn, a rubber centipede called the Tingler, drugs and of course the classic history of the film when it was played original in the theater when they would place electric shocks in the seats and made the beast crawl over the big screen.
Rating: This film is a B movie but at the same time you can feel the fun it was to be made. Vincent Price steals the stage yet again with his over dramatic acting which he is known for. Low budget but very entertaining!
