Night of the Demons (1988)
Director: Kevin Tenney
Main Stars: Cathy Podewell, Alvin Alexis, Hal Havins, Linnea Quigley, Jill Terashita, Amelia Kinkade
Storyline: A group of teens party at an old funeral parlor and awaken some evil forces.
Review (Spoils): Hey its Halloween night and nothing says fun like a drink and horny fest at an old abandoned funeral parlor. The place seems to be on ancient sacred ground and some of young ones decide to do a séance in front a mirror there. Something new but at the same times nothing different as the demons rise and take over the teens one by one.
We have horny teens, Halloween masks, some urban legends of the misty place, an underground river (this might come handy), drinking, panty shot, a large mirror and some demons that possess them one by one, neck snaps, tongue biting, apples and blades and lots of demon chasing. We have some nasty make-up and the classic Angela the demoness.
Nothing over the top here but a classic 80s horror film that is not a slasher and deals more along the Evil Dead theme. The movie does not take itself serious which is a good thing and plays like a cheap line B movie. We have some T&A and some blood and some okay make-up for the demons themselves. So it’s not a bad thing at all….
Rating: I have seen better but at the same time I have seen a Hell of a lot worse! It is a bit slow at the beginning but once it takes off it takes off just like the clothes and skirts of Linnea Quigle. Its a classic on its own and it’s the first of a series of Night of Demon films.
