The Perfection (2018)
Director: Richard Shepard
Main Stars: Allison Williams, Steven Weber, Alaina Huffman, Logan Browning, Molly Grace
Storyline: Past musician has been felt left behind her in career and seeks out new star pupil of her former school.
Review (Spoils): Charlotte (Allison Williams) had everything going for her music career until her mother and personal life got in the way and she needed to decide. Time past and she regretted her choices. She seeks back to her formal school and teacher Anton (Steven Weber). Charlotte is introduced to the new star of the school Lizzie (Logan Browning) and the two hit it off. But is this love or is it a trap? The web of choices and the past of the school starts to bring forth a nightmare.
Charlotte starts off being the one seeking out everyone and being awkward but then you realise there is more to her than what seems. The fake traps begin and so does the planning but then the story takes a few twists (which is explained in some rewinds) and we learn that maybe she could be the victim? The film plays totally off the character development and relationship between Charlotte and Lizzie until mid way and then the twists of madness and blood starts to shine.
The film gives us some sexy lesbian love making, nasty arm hack, some yellow puke in a few occasions, bugs lots and lots of bugs, knives and more knives, the hot Allison Williams and a ending scene which helps make this film memorable. Nothing very over the top but enough to keep the film in the horror more than thriller line.
Rating: Personally, had no idea what I was going to get into with this film and did not disappoint. The character build between the two women was enough for me wanting to know where this was going. The film did get a bit weird and kind of off the road towards the end, but the freaky ending was enough to keep me in peace and let me just enjoy the film was its own weirdness. Also, an hour and half of Allison Williams did not hurt either. Go check this out!
