The riding group of Templar knights invade a village and end their festival in a true cut down blood bath. The sum of the plot is a lot of camera movement and a group of people get hold up in an ancient church where they must work together to escape the undead zombie knights. We have a mix of characters from the hero of the day, the yummy mayor’s wife to the asshole himself.

We have some gore, some blood, some decent character build and mix, the Templar which yet again is done very well and lots of action and the same gothic tension as the first film.

Rating: This series is low on the budget but at the same time is a classic zombie series. Picture medieval zombies on horses that cut down their victims which they can track from their screams, that’s what the series is all about. Some believe this is just a remake but I do not see that myself when viewing this film. We have nudity and dark imagery what is not to drink too?

Tombs of the Blind Dead (1972)

MV5BMjA0MjQyNzg4N15BMl5BanBnXkFtZTcwMDU0NzYzMQ@@__V1_SY317_CR5,0,214,317_AL_Review (Spoils): Way back in the 13th century an evil cult of knights known as the Templars were on quest for eternal life by drinking human blood and killing people in the name of sacrifice. Because of the unholy hatred the group was left for dead and the crows peck out their eyes.

This brings us to modern day Portugal when a small group of people come across the old Templar’s monastery which raises them from the dead to continue their unholy rage. Some of scenes of the death knights riding their horses and stalking and cutting bodies down are actually very nice and the final scene is somewhat a classic in eurohorror but the acting can be a bit slow and painful to watch. We have some nasty sword swinging, decapitations, amputations and some good old bloodletting.

Rating: We have blood, boobs and death knights on horseback what more do you need? Don’t expect a zombie fest in this one as the Blind Dead trilogy is not like that. This is a bit of an exploitation film and it is a classic even though the plot is slow. The ending alone is worth checking out and the mood of the film fits well but it could have used more Templars.
