The Howling 3 (1987)
Director: Philippe Mora
Main Stars: Barry Otto, William Yang, Imogen Annesley
Storyline: A strange breed of werewolves appears in the country of Australia and a sociologist is studying them. What he did not expect was to fall in love with one of them.
Review (Spoils): First off we could not stray any farther away from the first of the series then this one. We have a group of werewolves that are found in the far off country of Australia in which brings Professor Harry Beckmeyer (Barry Otto) to study them. This leads to people who do not try to understand the werewolf culture and being and start to hunt them in fear and sport. The professor tries his hardest to protect the pack especially the redheaded woman named Jerboa (Imogen Annesley)who just happens to have a nice furry pouch becomes pregnant and we child bearing part of the werewolf society.
The acting in this film is very painful and it really does ruin the film. The movie tries too hard to become a film where you are suppose to feel for the werewolves as they fight society but instead becomes dumb and somewhat campy. Sure the werewolf nuns was kind of funny but if it wasn’t for Imogen Annesley would of been totally bored out my mind. We have some cheesy transformations and some furry beasts.
Rating: This film should be called The Howling: the love story as that is pretty much what it is. This is more of a fake documentary then a horror film. You will need a pile of beers to be able to go through this whole film from beginning to end.
