Basket Case (1982)
Director: Frank Henenlotter
Main Stars: Kevin Van Hentenryck, Terri Susan Smith, Beverly Bonner
Storyline: Young man is carrying his deformed simaese brother in a basket and they seek revenge on the doctor that separated them.
Review (Spoils): Welcome to the strange! The movie starts with Duane Bradley (Kevin Van Hentenryck) who is on the run and hunt to find a doctor so in through dream sequences that removed a simaese brother from him. We learn that his brother who he keeps in a basket is so deformed that the doctors were going to dispose him. This movie is a classic when comes to B horror films. What’s not to love we have a deformed playdough creature that wants to kill and wants nobody to come between him and his brother. This film has lost of red eyes, creepy screams, blood, gore and even some weirdness (which is Frank Henenlotter style) prime example is the scene with the receptionist Sharon (Terri Susan Smith).
Rating: Are you ready for bad acting but a real fun film? I love this type of thing this is what makes horror fun. Being a Troma fan I get what Frank Henenlotter is doing here and I love it. Now I will be honest it is not masterpiece but it is a staple in horror films of monsters from the 80s.
