Director: John Carpenter
Main Stars: James Woods, Daniel Baldwin, Sheryl Lee, Ian Griffon
Storyline: The church has hired some vampire hunters to take out the undead before they get hold of an ancient Catholic relic.
Review (Spoils): The church have known about vampires existing for some time and when they find out that a group are trying to get hold of an ancient Catholic relic of a crucifix they hire vampire hunter Jack Crow (James Woods).
First off meet the odd, hateful but lovable vampire hunter Jack Crow. He hates everything and that includes vampires. James Woods did an awesome job playing and building this character up in this film (come on everyone loves James Woods). Even the side kick of the hunter Montoya played by Daniel Baldwin is well done. But the one person that does stand out for me in this film is the hooker played by the beautiful Sheryl Lee, she stalks the screen.
We have the good vs the bad (the vampires themselves); we have a solid sound track, lots of blood, gore, and the vampire master Valek and exploding vampires as they die. The film has enough action and kills to keep you entertained.
Rating: Need something different when it comes to vampire films? Well this could be it. This film is dirty, not thick on plot and it is fast moving. The low down of the film is a vampire master who needs the relic so that someday they can walk during the daylight and over take the world. I have not been this excited about a vampire film in this era since Near Dark or The Lost Boys… and this one is right up there. Plus did a mention we have the beautiful Sheryl Lee?
