MV5BMTg2MzI0MzczOF5BMl5BanBnXkFtZTcwNzAyODExMw@@__V1_UX182_CR0,0,182,268_AL_Review (Spoils): The storyline is pretty much the same as the last two. We have the young beautiful people of Hollywood in a film in which they are all having fun and a teen has a vision and does something to save people for the disaster happens. Death gets pissed off because it got cheated so it starts to knock each young person off on by on in order of sequence it should of happen.

A roller coaster ride is involved in this one, lots of gore, clues on how people are to die, lots of blood and the CGI is semi okay but it is noticeable unfortunate. James Wong is great and you can tell he had his hands on this one as we reinvented the same wheel from the first film but the twist of death actually playing a game with the teens is a nice interesting twist.

Rating: I’m going to be honest when I first watched this film I was not expecting much as I normally hate Hollywood horror films and being the 3rd in a series I thought it would be lacking. It actually was not bad for the 3rd film in a series.  It’s entertaining and the deaths are laughable….so grab some beers and enjoy!

Black Christmas (2006)

Black Christmas (2006)

Country: USA

Director: Glen Morgan

Main Stars: Michelle Trachtenberg, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Lacey Chabert, Kristen Cloke, Andrea Martin, Crystal Lowe, Robert Mann

Storyline: A maniac heads home for Christmas which is now a sorority house and he begins a murdering rampage.

MV5BMTgwMjA4MzAxNl5BMl5BanBnXkFtZTcwNjYxNDY0MQ@@__V1_SX214_Review (Spoils): Billy is one demented kid. He was born with a liver disease, his mother rejected him, he watched his mother and lover kill his father and he locked in the attic. During this he abused more by his mother and he finally is hospitalized after he kills his mother and lover and blinds his sister Anges.

Many years later Billy escapes and heads back home which is now a sorority house. It is Christmas Eve and he starts to kill them one by one. This movie tries to grasps the main attraction of the original film with the bag over the head scene and follows with snow globe bashing, eye ripping, phone threats, gardening tools, severed heads, icicle impaling, ice skate, eye stabbing, neck snapping, knife slashing and of course a Christmas tree impaling.

Why this film should have never been made???

Ok first off the acting is average, yes we have some beautiful ladies in this film but it is lacking in acting. The plot is all over the place and tells too much and leaves nothing for the audience. The death scenes start to become beyond dumb, icicle, skate and Christmas tree really? The over did the most classic scene of the bag over the head with the rocking chair. They turned the great Billy character into a joke. The only good part of the film is the babes and the ode to Andrea Martin.

Rating: Don’t waste your time with this. Black Christmas was one of the greatest horror slasher films of its time and a gem and this piece of garbage is a disgrace to it.  This film should of never been re-done and go and watch the original for a true gem.

The Thing (2011)

The Thing (2011)

Country: USA

Director:  Matthijs Van Heijiningen

Stars: Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Joel Edgerton, Ulrich Thomsen

Storyline:  An Antarctica research team discover an alien craft.

MV5BMTMxMjI0MzUyNl5BMl5BanBnXkFtZTcwNjc1NzE5NQ@@__V1_SY317_CR0,0,214,317_Review: Kate Lloyd (Mary Elizabeth Winstead ) gets invited by Dr. Sandor Halvoeson (Ulrich Thomsen) to join his team as they found an alien craft in the Antarctica.  In this investigation they find an alien form not far from the ship and it melts from the ice.  This becomes then a blood bath as the alien beast slowly starts to kill the members of the team off and it can reanimate itself to the people it kills.

The special effects are not bad in this film but it is pretty much the same song and dance as the original The Thing. The creature is not as great and the effects are massive CGI so it lacks in this part if you compare.  We have lots of blood on the snow and the movie does move well but it is pretty much a repeat.  We got dogs, snow, blood, and an alien that can change on will, gore and the same damn story as John Carpenters.

Rating: Ok for a prequel you think you might want to do more than just rewrite the original The Thing. It was so bad that I thought I was watching a remake till the very end and then I was oh it’s a prequel.  Which yes gave it some bonus points as I hate remakes but at the same time I was stunned on nothing is different. So minor beers for a prequel which is the same of the original which in truth was not the original but a remake of The Thing from Another Planet .
