Shallow Ground (2008)
Director: Sheldon Wilson
Main Stars: Timothy V. Murphy, Stan Kirsh, Lindsey Stoddart, Rocky Marquette, Patty McCormack
Storyline: A boy covered in blood walks into a police station and it opens a can of worms on an unsolved mystery and a bigger nightmare.
Review (Spoils): not to spoil too much of this film but the blood covered boy could be more of the more memorable scenes in horror of this era (2000s). The movie starts off with a bang and the gore is well done and they don’t shy away from the red in this one. We have a lot of mystery and some good visuals with this film.
But now for the bad, plot holes are massive in this film. But I think the biggest issue with the film is the outcome for all the blood, gore and graphics the outcome just did not make sense. The silent blood boy was cool but the story could not hold itself together.
We have lots of blood, some hanging bodies, some semi ok acting (not great), lots of dead bodies and it does not shy from showing some special effects.
Rating: We have a film that started off very interesting and cool and presented some very neat gore but the plot was so full of unanswered questions that the movie dipped low. I still think this film is worth checking out but do not expect something fantastic when it comes to storyline.
