Return of the Living Dead 2 (1988)
Director: Ken Wiederhorn
Main Stars: James Karen, Thor Van Lingen, Thom Matthews, Suzanne Snyder, Marsha Dietlein
Storyline: After the first film a radioactive container gets dropped in the sewer system causing zombies to return.
Review (Spoils): The zombies are back and they want more BRAINS! Following the idea of the first film we have a stoned driver who was not paying attention and a container of radioactive stuff gets dumped in the water system. The dead started to walk as a young group of men stealing skulls come across them, a young kid who wants to be cool and his teenage sister and hunky cable guy. The film is not to be taken serious just like the first one and there is lots of one liners, screaming, talking zombies, stupid reactions, some blood, yellow and black goo, the classic finger bite, brains being eaten, talking heads and bouncing zombie hands.
More yelling and screaming then anything but the zombies are not bad except for the odd one that is supposed to be funny. We have the annoying yet hot redhead Suzanne Snyder screaming through most of it.
Rating: Not as good as the first one we have another entry for the Return of the Living Dead series. The acting is pretty lame and to be honest if it was not for the 80s hotness (Suzanne Snyder) this film would of been pretty damn boring and annoying. The zombies are pretty decent and the make-up is good but the acting and lines are pretty hard to take.

Director: Tom McLoughlin
Main Stars: Thom Matthews, Jennifer Cooke, David Kagen, Renee Jones, C.J Graham
Storyline: Tommy Jarvis goes to the graveyard to dig up Jason Voorhees to get rid of his body. A lightning bolt hits the metal rod in his body and lord and behold the mask is back!
Review (Spoils): Tommy Jarvis (Thom Matthews) is back and just as mad in the head. He digs up Jason Voorhees (C.J Graham) for some reason to burn and dispose the body (even though it’s buried) during a stormy night. During this he drives a metal fence through the body and lightning hits it. Jason rises from the grave kills Horseshack and goes on a murdering rampage. In this whole rush to stop Jason for once and for all Tommy gets arrested as he is hanging around the hot sheriff’s daughter Megan (Jennifer Cooke) and the people believe that is the mad man.
Jason is back in this one and the series goes back on track. Sure Crystal Lake gets renamed Forest Green due to the awful past of the area but the presence is still there. We have lots of paintball deaths, arms being ripped off and the classic machete. This film brings in the violence but the gore is very lacking as the scenes are shot too fast. But we get the picture and the Man behind the Mask is back, right till the ending where Tommy chains him back to the bottom of the lake where he orginal drowned.
Rating: This film brought Jason back into the series and right where the 4th of the series left off really. We have Jason running around smashing people to bits and hacking like it’s a wheat field. Alice Cooper tunes and Jason fucking Horseshack up in the beginning what more is there to love?
